Roles and Responsibilities:
· Network Infrastructure Management:
Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and internet systems.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal functionality.
· System Administration:
Administer and maintain server infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and security of systems.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
· Security Management:
Implement and manage security measures to protect the organization’s computer systems and networks.
Monitor and respond to security incidents, conduct security audits, and enforce policies.
· User Support:
Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Set up and configure new user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions.
· IT Infrastructure Planning:
Collaborate with other IT professionals to plan and implement IT infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
· Documentation:
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, system procedures, and IT policies.
Create and update documentation for troubleshooting and system administration tasks.
· Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
Test and update recovery procedures regularly.
· Vendor Management:
Work with technology vendors to procure hardware, software, and services.
Manage relationships with external service providers.
· IT Compliance:
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR and industry-specific requirements.
Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with policies and procedures.
· Training and Knowledge Transfer:
Provide training to end-users on IT systems and security best practices.
Share knowledge and expertise with the IT team to enhance overall capabilities.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
· Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
· 3 years of experience in network and system administration roles.
· Proficient in configuring and managing networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
· Hands-on experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
· Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and tools.
· Experience in implementing and managing security protocols.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with end-users and IT team members.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues efficiently.
· Ability to manage IT projects, including planning, execution, and documentation.
· Keen attention to detail for accurate configuration, documentation, and security management.
· Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
