Dairy and machinery relief work (Fert & slurry spreading, feeding silage) Full Time

Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Operate machinery and equipment for spreading fertilizers and slurry on designated fields.

·         Adhere to safety guidelines and environmental regulations while handling and applying fertilizers and slurry.

·         Monitor and record application rates and keep accurate records of spread areas.

·         Assist in the feeding of silage to dairy cattle using appropriate machinery and equipment.

·         Follow feeding schedules and guidelines provided by the farm owner or manager.

·         Ensure proper storage and handling of silage to maintain its quality.

·         Operate and maintain various farm machinery and equipment, including tractors, loaders, spreaders, and other relevant machinery.

·         Perform routine maintenance checks and report any malfunctions or repairs needed.

·         Ensure machinery is cleaned and stored properly after use.

·         Follow all farm protocols and safety procedures to ensure the welfare of animals and employees.

·         Communicate effectively with the farm owner or manager to understand daily tasks and priorities.

·         Collaborate with other farm workers to ensure smooth workflow and efficient completion of tasks.

·         Report any issues, concerns, or incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

·         Prior experience working on a dairy farm or operating farm machinery is highly preferred.

·         Understanding of dairy farming practices, machinery operations, and safety protocols is essential.

·         Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting heavy objects, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and operating machinery.

·         Basic mechanical skills for machinery maintenance and troubleshooting are beneficial.

·         Basic English needed ( Speaking Ability).
