Dairy and swine relief work (Milking cows & piggery work) Full Time

Roles and Responsibilities:

·         Milker is responsible for caring for cows and calves on a farm.

·         Milking cows by hand or using milking equipment while following sanitary and safety regulations.

·         Maintain accurate milking records to ensure they exclude any cows receiving medical treatment.

·         Responsible for informing their supervisor or the herd manager if any cows have mastitis or other issues that may affect milk production.

·         Monitor and maintain the health and condition of cattle or livestock (pigs).

·         Feeding and checking pigs.

·         Move and weigh pigs.

·         Manage sick and injured animals (including administering treatments).

·         Carry out other husbandry tasks (artificial insemination, ultrasound, heat detection, semen collection, etc.) as appropriate.

·         Keep farm records.

·         Clean accommodation/housing and equipment.

·         Help with other duties on the farm as needed, such as cleaning barns and maintaining pastures.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

·         Have at least 2 years’ hands-on experience.

·         Have a minimum Certification in relevant field.

·         Be able to work independently but also as part of a team.

·         Basic Level of English needed (Speaking Ability)
