Roles and Responsibilities:
· Perform milking duties, including attaching milking machines, monitoring milk flow, and ensuring proper milking procedures are followed.
· Monitor the health and well-being of the herd, identifying any signs of illness or distress.
· Administer medications or treatments to cows as directed by the farm owner or manager.
· Prepare and distribute feed to the dairy herd according to prescribed rations and schedules.
· Monitor feed quality and ensure an adequate supply of fresh water is available at all times.
· Follow feeding protocols and guidelines provided by the farm owner or manager.
· Maintain clean and comfortable living conditions for the cows, including cleaning barns, bedding, and handling manure.
· Monitor and report any signs of injury, disease, or unusual behavior in the herd.
· Ensure the overall welfare of the animals by adhering to best practices in animal care.
· Clean and sanitize milking equipment, barns, and milking parlors regularly to maintain proper hygiene.
· Maintain accurate records of milk production, animal health, and other relevant farm activities.
· Communicate effectively with the manager to report daily activities, concerns, and incidents.
· Collaborate with other farm workers to ensure smooth workflow and effective teamwork.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
· Previous experience working on a dairy farm or with dairy animals is preferred.
· Have a minimum Certification in relevant field.
· Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, working on your feet for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
· Knowledge of proper animal handling techniques and understanding of cow behavior.
· Basic Level of English needed (Speaking Ability).
